Gusaba (Introduction)
Friday, July 10, 2026
Gusaba is the Kinyarwanda verb 'to ask' and is the ceremony where the groom's family officially requests for the daughter's hand as a bride. This meaningful celebration unites two families and honors Rwandan traditions while celebrating community bonds. During the ceremony, you can expect traditional music and dancing, ceremonial gift exchange, and blessings from elders.
We'd love to see your heritage! Wear your cultural dress or opt for a formal gown or suit. Interested in Rwandan traditional dress? We’ll share a survey in May to collect information.
